Provide against sth and provide sb/ sth

Provide against sth and provide sb/ sth là ngữ pháp mang ý nghĩa chuẩn bị, cung cấp, chu cấp cho ai đó hoặc một cái gì đó.

Provide against sth.

To make plans in order to deal with or prevent a bad or unpleasant situation. 

(Lên kế hoạch để giải quyết hoặc ngăn chặn một tình huống xấu hoặc không dễ chịu).

 Ex: Does your insurance provide against loss of income?

(Bảo hiểm có giải quyết việc tổn thất về thu nhập hay không?).

Provide for sb.

To give sb the things that they need to live, such as food, money and clothing. 

(Đưa cho sb những thứ mà họ cần để sống, như thức ăn, tiền và quần áo).

Ex: How will she provide for six children?

(Cô ấy viện trợ cho 6 đứa trẻ như thế nào?).

Provide for sth.

To make plans or arrangements to deal with sth that may happen in the future 

(Lên kế hoạch hoặc sự sắp xếp để giải quyết mà có thể xảy ra trong tương lai).

Ex: the budget provides for rising inflation.

(Ngân sách để chuẩn bị cho việc gia tăng lạm phát).

To make it possible for sth to be done.

(Khiến sth có thể được hoàn thành).

Ex: European legislation provides for expansion of EU.

(Luật pháp Châu Âu quy định việc mở rộng EU).
